Keto Chocolate Cake – Flourless LCHF

22nd May 2017 by Daryl 1 Comment

Keto Chocolate cake, I loveeeee the cake!

So after looking at various new recipes to try, I came across one that would satisfy a sweet tooth. I came across one on the Headbangers Kitchen Youtube channel. However I thought that I would write up a version as I struggled to keep up with the video. I must have watched it 20 times.Ingredients for Keto Chocolate Cake

The idea of 85% chocolate scared me a bit at first as I’m not a fan, however, this cake was really nice, and I can only assume the cream and butter take away the bitterness of the chocolate.

Let’s BAKE!

Ingredients
  1. 200g 85% or Higher Cocoa Chocolate
  2. 100ml Single Cream
  3. 100g Unsalted Butter cubed.
  4. 4 x Eggs - Seperated into Whites (large bowl) Yolks (smaller bowl)
  5. 4 TBSP Stevia or Other Sweetener
  6. 1tsp Salt
  7. Butter for greasing the cake tin
Equipment
  1. Cake Tin (I used a 10" tin)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 160c
  2. Place a large mixing bowl over a pan of water on a medium heat & break up your chocolate and allow it to melt, adding in the butter till all is melted and you have a smooth mixture.
  3. Add in your 100ml of cream and combine well. Allow the whole mixture to cool.
  4. Add your salt to your egg whites and beat until stiff peaks, I highly recommend a elecrtic whisk.
  5. Take your chocolatly mixture and add in one egg yolk at a time, making sure they are fully mixed in before adding the next (Again I used my electric whisk).
  6. Next add 1/3 of your egg whites and fold them in with gentle movements, do the same with the 2nd 1/3 and the last 1/3.
  7. Once smooth, grease your cake tin with some butter and pour in your mixure, smoothing over the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 25-30 mintues.
  9. I sliced mine into 12 slices once cool.
Notes
  1. I served mine with 20ml of cream per slice.

Hey, Over here :)

Hi, I’m Daryl, A Keen Cook.

After having a love for cooking for many years, I decided to make this blog. It’s aimed to be family friendly with meals for busy mums, dads, grandparents, real food anyone can make, easily at home with basic equipment.

I use a range of cooking methods including: Stir-fry, Steaming, Oven, Hob, Slow Cooker, Indoor Grilling, Outdoor Grilling & Smoking. The only thing I tend not to do is deep fry as I air-fry, but never say never.

Often my recipes do not contain onions, due a onion allergy at home. But that’s not always, so please don’t be put off.

You’ll struggle to find perfect photo’s, they’re more real, and on the go, while I’m cooking, none of them are “setup” for this blog just quick snaps taken while cooking, mostly unedited.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy reading. And feel free to contact me at any time.

Big Love
Daryl
