Tongmaster Seasonings Meatball Kit

Tongmaster Seasonings Meatball Kit

I Ordered8pm on a Thursday before a bank holiday friday, and the kit arrived Saturday. How is that even possible!

The Kit contains, 1 seasoning mix, 1 meat baller & 1 tray. My photo contains two mixes as I’m also going to try out the Firecracker Gluten FREE mix

The meat baller seems sturdy and brilliant for a small production of meatballs, for the price I seriously cannot find a fault with this kit.

The meatballs were easy to make, no doubt this was down to the meat baller that is supplied with the kit. I know most the time we tend to use pork or beef to make meatballs, but as a healthier option, I chose to use Turkey mince.

HOW TO HERE

I cooked half of them up with a simple Italian tomato sauce and served with spaghetti, the rest I froze in the handy little tray that came with the kit, then popped them out into a freezer bag once froze.

Still editing.

Pizza base recipe.

Anyway, on my quest to make pizza on the BBQ I came across 2 recipes for the base. One taken from Uuni the guys who make an amazing pizza oven called the Unni 3. The other from a BBQ Facebook group member HERE.  I combined the two to create a simple method and ended up with the following recipe. I’ve made many times and works amazingly time after time.

Makes 8-12 bases.
8 large bases 472 caloires per base – 12 bases 314 calories per base.

  • 1KG of ’00’ Pizza/Pasta Flour.  (I used this which was 2 1.5kg bags for £3 in Asda, but is also available in Aldi, and failing that any ‘oo’ flour will work.)
  • 1 x 7gPacket dried yeast
  • 650ml warm water, an easy trick is to put 450ml cold  water into a jug and then add 200ml boiling this will give the ideal temperature we need.)
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Fine semolina for stretching.

Steps.

  1. Add the sugar and yeast to your jug of water, stirring well and leave to stand for 3 minutes.
  2. Next, place your flour into a large mixing bowl and mix your salt through to ensure even distribution.
  3. Make a small well in the middle of your flour and pour the yeasty water we made in step one into the centre.
  4. Using a spoon, mix the flour into the water, it may look like not all the flour will be mixed in but keep combining until mixed. If needed use your hands to get the last bits mixed.
  5. Knead your dough on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic. I recommend following the guide on this video, as it teaches you the technique if you have never made a dough before.
  6. Oil your mixing bowl well and place in the pizza dough, loosely cover with clingfilm and put in a warm area, I set it near the oven as it was already on, but anywhere warm will work. Keep it here until it looks like it has doubled in size, the time it needs depends on the room conditions
  7. Next, I weighed the dough to calculate how many grams per base, Just weigh your total dough and divide by 8, for a larger base or 12 for a more manageable size.
TIP: If you only need a few bases, you can freeze any spare dough balls after step 7, tightly wrapped in clingfilm. Then once defrosted, continue to step 8.
  8. Divide the dough into the desired number of bases, shape into balls and then set on a baking tray to double in size again.

You’re Done! Lets make a tomato sauce and stretch our bases.

Pizza Sauce Recipe

For the pizza sauce you will need.

  • 1 tin Plum Tomatoes.
  • 2tbsp tomato puree.
  • 1 tsp salt.

Simply put all the ingredients into a hand mixer, blender. and lightly break down the tomato’s so they are spreadable, put it in the fridge till you need it. Update – readers have also used health mixers such as Nutri bullet – Thanks for the tip John!

Cook your pizza on the BBQ

Get the BBQ on, gas or charcoal your looking for around 300-350c, Set the pizza stone / http://amzn.to/2pog97z on the BBQ while it heats up. Mine took around 30 mins to hit the temp using charcoal. Your BBQ must have a lid for this method.

  1. Take one ball of dough and stretch it to around 12″ (if 8 bases) . This part for me was tricky but if you have never done it this video sums it up easy (though my pizza was not that round the first time!).
  2. Transfer your base onto your means of moving the pizza (pizza peel or greaseproof paper), with a small sprinkling of fine semolina to stop any sticking.
  3. Place appox 2 tbsp of the tomato sauce you made and spread it out, leaving a nice edge for a crust to form.
  4. Arrange your chosen toppings including you cheese however you like. Remembering cheddar will release it’s oil, so try using grated mozzarella it melts so much better, or some shops now sell a pizza cheese blend.
  5. Transfer the pizza on the stone, close your bbq lid and check after 2 minutes, then every 30 seconds. Once cooked to your liking remove, slice & enjoy!Im currently looking for new ideas for toppings, so please comment below with your ideas! There you have it pizza on the bbq, a change from the usual burgers and they are great for a small social event as everyone can top their own pizza, making it more fun.

Hey, Over here :)

Hi, I’m Daryl, A Keen Cook.

After having a love for cooking for many years, I decided to make this blog. It’s aimed to be family friendly with meals for busy mums, dads, grandparents, real food anyone can make, easily at home with basic equipment.

I use a range of cooking methods including: Stir-fry, Steaming, Oven, Hob, Slow Cooker, Indoor Grilling, Outdoor Grilling & Smoking. The only thing I tend not to do is deep fry as I air-fry, but never say never.

Often my recipes do not contain onions, due a onion allergy at home. But that’s not always, so please don’t be put off.

You’ll struggle to find perfect photo’s, they’re more real, and on the go, while I’m cooking, none of them are “setup” for this blog just quick snaps taken while cooking, mostly unedited.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy reading. And feel free to contact me at any time.

Big Love
Daryl
